Advisory Business
Firm Overview
Calamita Wealth Management Inc. (“CWM”) was formed in 2010. We offer discretionary investment management and comprehensive financial planning services. Todd Calamita is our sole principal owner.
Our Planning Process
- Establish the Relationship: Set roles, fees, and communication preferences.
- Gather Information: Understand your financial situation and goals.
- Analyze: Evaluate your financial data and formulate a strategy.
- Develop & Recommend: Present action steps aligned with your goals.
- Implement: Execute the agreed-upon strategy.
- Monitor: Review and adjust as your life and goals evolve.
Standalone Financial Planning
We also offer one-time financial planning on topics like cash flow, retirement, insurance, tax strategy, and estate planning. These engagements do not include ongoing asset management.
Retirement Plan Services
We provide ERISA-compliant fiduciary and non-fiduciary consulting for retirement plans, including investment selection, plan monitoring, and participant education.
Fees and Compensation
Investment Management Fees
Fees are billed quarterly, in advance, based on prior quarter-end balances:
- Up to $1M: 1.25%
- $1M–$3M: 1.00%
- $3M–$5M: 0.80%
- $5M–$10M: 0.70%
- Over $10M: 0.60%
Minimum quarterly fee: $2,500. Prorated for mid-quarter changes.
Financial Planning Fees
One-time plans range from $5,000 to $15,000. Half is due upfront, the balance upon completion.
Client Types
We serve individuals, high net-worth individuals, retirement plans, and businesses.
Investment Strategies and Risk
We use both qualitative and quantitative methods, including long- and short-term investing. Risks include market volatility, management risk, interest rate changes, credit risk, and foreign currency exposure.
Code of Ethics & Disclosures
Ethical Conduct
We maintain a strict code of ethics covering confidentiality, personal trading, and conflicts of interest. Employees may invest in securities also recommended to clients, but with oversight.
Retirement Account Fiduciary Rule
We act in your best interest and provide prudent, loyal, and transparent advice for retirement accounts.
Disciplinary History
No disciplinary events to disclose.
Brokerage Practices
We recommend Charles Schwab & Co. for custody and trade execution. Schwab offers services and tools that benefit CWM and its clients, though this may create a perceived conflict of interest. We do not accept directed brokerage.
Review of Accounts
Accounts are reviewed at least annually by Todd Calamita, and more frequently as needed based on client circumstances or market conditions. Quarterly summaries are provided in addition to custodial statements.
Custody & Discretion
We deduct fees directly from client accounts with authorization and follow all SEC safeguards. We typically have discretionary authority for portfolio management.
Proxy Voting
We do not vote proxies on behalf of clients.
Financial Condition
CWM has no financial impairment or conditions requiring disclosure and does not require prepayment of fees beyond six months.
Form ADV Part 2B – Advisor Bios
Todd D. Calamita, CFP®
Todd is the founder, President, and CCO of CWM. He earned his BBA from Ohio University and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and has worked in finance since 1999, founding CWM in 2010.
Britton R. Williams
Britton joined CWM in 2018 and holds a BS in Business Finance from UNC-Wilmington. He has passed the Series 65 and previously worked with Belpointe Asset Management and Tuttle Wealth Management.
Business Continuity Plan
We have a Business Continuity Plan covering disasters, alternate office arrangements, and key personnel loss. In the event of a serious incident, we will reach out to clients within five days. Daily electronic backups ensure data protection.
