Divorce Transition – What We Do & How We Can Help

divorce transition

A friend told me a few months ago that listening and loving are on the same vibration level. And I immediately understood what she meant. Think about it for a minute. How often can we say we are truly heard in a day? How often do you feel understood, and what does it feel like to be understood? I think it feels like love. When going through a divorce transition, feeling heard is not just comforting, but extremely important.

Okay, I know it sounds a bit cheesy. But sometimes it’s the cheesy things in life that make the biggest difference. At Calamita Wealth Management, we combine the power of empathetic listening with the leadership and guidance needed to identify your most important life goals and create a plan to get there.

In a busy and overloaded world, we understand that having the right skill set and knowledge are important, but they will only get you so far. What our clients need from us is a kind and compassionate ear. Someone to be there through all of life’s ups and downs, to celebrate the wins and mourn the losses; however, most importantly, someone to give them a sense of direction when it feels like they have none.

What We Do

I specialize in working with women who are currently experiencing a divorce transition and looking for guidance as they rebuild not only their post-divorce finances, but also their sense of self. After going through my own messy divorce and subsequent financial disaster, I discovered my passion for helping others going through similar experiences. As a life planner and divorce specialist, I combine this passion with the practical knowledge needed to guide my clients toward a brighter future.

Together with the financial professionals at CWM, we can help you turn a disastrous situation into a new beginning. Above all, consider it to be a chance to refine and redefine yourself and your finances.

We ask the important questions that you may not have even asked yourself yet:
  • What are your core values?
  • What keeps you up at night?
  • How do you want your future to look like? Feel like? Be like?
  • What is most important to you?

We use the answers to these questions and more to create a coordinated plan between the most essential areas of your life. In the end, this allowsg you to focus on enjoying a future that you have defined.

How We Work

On the wealth management side, we use a unique three-pronged approach to identify your needs, develop the plan, and ensure a positive client experience. The key components to this process include restoring order, creating financial peace, and achieving your most important lifestyle objectives even in the midst of a divorce transition. By considering various what-if scenarios, we can project the future of your finances and make changes as needed if life starts to deviate from the plan.

On the life planning side, I provide our clients with a Divorce Survival Kit and a Divorce Planning Checklist. These aid to emphasize the importance of rebuilding your routine after divorce.

This includes:
  • Prioritizing self-care through consistent exercise, spiritual healing, and proper nutrition.
  • Building a team of professionals including a financial advisor, life planner, mental health coach, and divorce/collaborative attorney.
  • Finding your direction and defining what you want your post-divorce life to be.

After we have a solid plan in place, we provide ongoing support in the form of annual reviews, periodic financial plan updates, and quarterly check-in calls. At CWM, our role is to help you regain a feeling of control, creating your vision for the next chapter of life.

Who We Serve

My ideal client has had enough life experience to know what works and what does not work. She may be going through a dark and difficult time, as is the case with divorce. She may find herself in another life transition (retirement, career management, etc.)! No matter where she is, she is open to the possibility of going outside her comfort zone and wants to be an active participant in growth and transformative change.

What Makes Us Unique

This is where the Calamita Wealth Management process can be contagious (in the best way!). We educate and empower with the influence of finance, and our reach grows as our clients succeed and flourish. We work together as a team, both internally at CWM, and externally with our clients. It is a natural process to guide others in the strategies and techniques that have worked for ourselves.

Certainly, this is what makes us unique. Our process provides space for both finances and emotions. Listening and loving, as my friend would say. Your life isn’t static, so neither are the plans we build. It’s a collaborative and ongoing process that evolves to fit your needs, whether it’s planning for retirement or navigating a challenging divorce.

Finally, if you would like to learn more about our process and how your money can be put to work to build a lifestyle you can be proud of, we would love to hear from you! Schedule an introductory phone call using our online calendar or reach out to us at (704) 975-3794 or catherine@calamitawealth.com
